Things to Do in Pittsburgh
We hope you have some time to explore Pittsburgh while you're in town! Our wedding is in Lawrenceville, one of Pittsburgh's most walkable neighborhoods, with plenty of restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and local businesses along Butler Street. If you're making a weekend of it, here are a few of our favorite ways to experience the city.
Explore Lawrenceville
You won't have to venture far from the wedding festivities to find something to do. Take a walk down Butler Street and stop into the neighborhood's independent shops, restaurants, coffee shops, and bars.
For something a little different, check out The Clemente Museum, dedicated to Pittsburgh Pirates legend Roberto Clemente, catch a movie at Row House Cinema, go bowling at Arsenal Bowl, or browse the exhibitions at Contemporary Craft.
Visit the Strip District
Just down the road from Lawrenceville, the Strip District is one of the best places to spend a Pittsburgh morning. Walk along Penn Avenue, grab breakfast or coffee, browse the markets and Pittsburgh shops, and come hungry—there's no shortage of great food.
While you're there, history buffs can visit the Senator John Heinz History Center for six floors of Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania history.
See the View from Mount Washington
For the quintessential Pittsburgh view, head up to Mount Washington and walk along Grandview Avenue. You'll get a panoramic view of Downtown, the three rivers, stadiums, and bridges.
For the full Pittsburgh experience, take a ride on the historic Duquesne Incline up or down the hillside.
Explore Oakland
If museums are more your speed, head to Oakland to visit the Carnegie Museum of Art and Carnegie Museum of Natural History, or spend an hour or two wandering through the gardens and Victorian glasshouse at Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens.
Just Wander
Pittsburgh is a city of neighborhoods, and some of the best experiences don't require much planning. Grab a coffee, find a neighborhood bar, walk along the river, or explore somewhere that catches your eye.
We're excited to have you in Pittsburgh and hope you get a chance to enjoy a little bit of the city while you're here!
